In partnership with Rand Mutual Assurance (RMA), Mlungisi Nkosi Mathematics & Science Centre (MNMSC) delivered a focused Winter Acceleration Programme designed to strengthen foundational academic skills and expose young learners to STEM-focused learning opportunities.

The programme supported Grade 7 and Grade 8 learners across Mathematics, Natural Sciences, English, Basic Computing and Unplugged Coding. Over 10 days, learners participated in structured lessons, practical activities and assessments designed to build confidence, reinforce key concepts and encourage curiosity beyond the classroom.

The programme welcomed 18 learners, with 17 successfully completing the full programme — achieving a 94% completion rate. Assessment results also showed improvement across the participating subject areas.

More than an academic intervention, the programme created an environment where learners could engage with technology, problem-solving and STEM concepts in an accessible and practical way.

Through the partnership, RMA and MNMSC are investing in more than immediate academic support — we are helping young people develop the knowledge, confidence and skills they need to navigate an increasingly digital and STEM-driven world.
